RULING NOT READY-COURT

Maseru, Aug.03— The High Court has on Thursday, in a case in which two politicians, former army commander and the army members are among others charged with treason, which allegedly occurred in August 2014, stated that a ruling on an objection raised by the defence in the matter is not ready.

The court through presiding judge, Justice Maliepollo Makhetha, ordered the parties involved in the matter to file their heads of arguments in order to facilitate preparation of the ruling. It directed that the case be moved to August 18 2023 for mention so that a date in which the ruling will be given is set down.

In May this year, the defence argued that the evidence of Mr. Tanki Mothae is hearsay therefore not admissible. They added that it is not an executive statement, further adding that it is irrelevant and prejudicial to the accused.
