LCS REPORTS OVER 100 INMATES IN CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTIONS COUNTRYWIDE

Maseru, Feb. 02 — At least 106 inmates have been reported in all the correctional institutions countrywide since January 22 to 26 alone.

LCS Paralegal Chief Officer Bokang Ramotena told the Agency that nine out of this number have already been convicted while 97 are awaiting trial in the correctional institutions.

She explained that nine of those convicted are all men with no women convicted.

Furthermore, Chief Officer Ramotena, those convicted is one who was found guilty for contempt of court and was slapped with a six months sentence with no option of fine.
