SENATE RECALL TO SECOND SPECIAL MEETING

Maseru, Aug. 14 — The Clerk of the Senate Advocate Tséliso Molise says the Senate has been recalled for the second special meeting of the Eleventh Parliament that will be held at the Old Parliament building tomorrow. 

Adv. Molise told the Agent that this was done pursuant to the Standing Order No. 100 to consider the Eleventh Amendment to the Constitution Bill, 2022. 

He said the standing order give permission to recall the Senate during its adjournment, if it comes to the attention of the President that the public interest requires that Senate should sit on an earlier time than to which Senate was adjourned pursuant to the Parliament calendar, the President, if she is satisfied that the public interest does so require, may accordingly direct that a special meeting be convened.
