SOIL PREPARATION BEFORE CULTIVATION IS IMPORTANT-MATLALI 

Mafeteng, August 01– Preparation of soil before cultivation, installation of shade net for production of different crops to fight poverty and hunger is important and should be done for quality production as well as high yield.

These were remarks made by the District Irrigation Officer Mrs. ‘Makhahliso Matlali during a two-day proper use of irrigation scheme for about 30 Motamolane Cooperative Society members held at Ha Motaolane on Tuesday.

Mrs. Matlali highlighted that quality soil with sufficient nutrients normally increases yield, saying such field should be near water to ease installation of pipes to be used for irrigating the produced crops. . .
