Quthing, April 17 — Farmers from Tlatlametsi Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition Resource Centre service area will showcase their agricultural produce and handicraft at an exhibition to be held at the resource Centre premises on Wednesday this week.
In an interview the Assistant Area Technical Officer from the Resource Centre, Mrs. Matlotlotliso Mahomo said the exhibition is intended to give the farmers an opportunity to introspect their production during this time when they are experiencing challenges of weather change in which normal seasons of production are unpredictable.
She indicated that it is in this event where farmers will share ideas and experience on how to produce various food types despite challenges posed whether change as others have managed to produce regardless of weather change challenges experienced during the beginning of summer cropping.
Mrs. Mahomo said produce to be exhibited at the event include different crops and vegetables, a variety of preserved food, small animals that include chickens and their products such as chicken meat and eggs, and handicraft.
The Tlatlametsi Assistant Area Technical Officer further said the exhibition will also be a demonstration of part of maintenance of food security strategies and promotion of proper nutrition.
Farmers at the exhibition will be from among other areas, Ha-Mohlakoana, Ha-Mashapha, Ha-Danyele, Koung, Ha Mohale, Ha Lebelonyane, Ha Jobo, Ha Mopeli and Matsiring.
Similar exhibition was held at the resource centre last year.
