DEFENCE INSIST ON ELECTRONIC RECORDING

Maseru, July 20 — The defence in a case in which some army members are accused of attempted murder of Former Editor of the Lesotho Times and Sunday Express newspapers Lloyd Mutunga have insisted that proceedings in the matter continue to be electronically recorded.

This was after one of the defence lawyers Advocate Karabo Mohau (KC) realised, in the middle of the proceedings, that they were not being recorded.

The court took a short adjournment following information that a recording machine for the courtroom which was previously used was borrowed by the High Court and that the machines in the judiciary were affected following an alleged hacking on the government system. The adjournment was also intended to secure a courtroom with a working recording machine as well as to map a way forward.
