HOUSE BURNT TO ASHES

Qacha’s Nek, Aug.08 — Retired Police Officer Lehlohonolo Phate’s single room was burnt to ashes yesterday.

In an interview with the Agency, Mr. Phate of Morumots’o popularly known as Police line said the fire was caused by firewood coal as he had set fire trying to warm himself.

“I went outside for a few minutes unaware that one of the coals went under my bed. While outside, I saw smoke through the windows and I went back inside only to see my bed on fire. I took a bowl and tried to douse the fire but failed,”said the 83-year-old man. . .
