MAN IN POLICE CUSTODY FOR ALLEGED ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF FIREARM

Quthing, Sept. 12 — A 23-year-old man from Ha-Liphapang in Tsatsane Area is in police custody in connection with alleged possession of a firearm and five bullets.

In an interview Inspector Lekhafola Tau from Criminal Investigation division (CID) Quthing charge office said the suspect was arrested on Tuesday during the police raid of firearms at Ha-Liphapang.

He raised concern over illegal possession of firearms cases in the district as such firearms are used by some Basotho to kill each other and in armed robbery cases.
