NATIONAL ASSEMBLY ON 10th AMENDMENT

Maseru, Aug. 21 — The National Assembly resolved itself into a committee for deliberations pertaining to the 10th Amendment to the Constitution Bill, 2024.

Upon arrival at the House today, Wednesday the Agency established continuing debate with Justice and Law Minister, Mr. Richard Ramoeletsi withdrawing and or suspending some clauses while also  moving  some  with regard to the Bill.

The Bill is said to be a result of consultations and debates among  members of National Reforms Authority and a wide number of stakeholders in line with the reforms theme “The Lesotho We Want”.

Talking to the Bill, the Leader of Opposition Mr. Mathibeli Mokhothu highlighted the need for strong debate  surrounding the new proposed amendments as new clauses are being moved to understand why the new ones are more important than the old ones.
