Maseru, Apr. 04 — World Health Organisation (WHO) Director General has called on Member State Ambassadors of intergovernmental negotiating bodies to have a pandemic agreement.
Addressing the ambassador, Dr. Tedros Ghebreyesus said the world is changing at a scale and pace unlike anything that has ever been seen.
He observed that the world is now witnessing a period of tremendous upheaval, with profound implications for multilateralism, humanitarianism, development and global health and it cannot be predicted where it is headed, or what the world will look like in one year’s time, let alone 10 years time.
‘’That’s exactly why we need the pandemic agreement – an agreement for an unpredictable world,’’ said Ghebreyesus. PM/TL
