Botha-Bothe, Jan. 18 — Officials in Botha-Bothe visited the family at Ha Khaketla whose house was reduced to ashes in a devastating fire on January 17, 2024.
The delegation included the District Administrator, members of the Disaster Management Team and representatives from the Department of Social Development.
The temporary owner of the house explained that he and his wife were away when the incident occurred, with him visiting an initiation school in the mountains. He said around 9:00 am, he received urgent text messages but lacked airtime to make a call. Upon his return, a villager informed him that his house was on fire.
