QACHA’S NEK FAILS TO MEET TARGET

Qacha’s Nek, Dec.08 — As the Disaster Management Authority (DMA) grains purchasing programme ends today, Food Management Unit (FMU) Warehouse Officer, Mr. Jonase Phooko says grains buying target was not met.

The two weeks programme of buying maize, beans and wheat was relaunched last week Monday (December 04).

Speaking to the Agency, he said farmers sold two 50 kg bags of maize, 22 bags of beans while they received nothing regarding wheat.

The target for 50kg bags was 1000 maize, 900 wheat and 233 beans.

Mr. Phooko however said there could be a slight change regarding maize selling before the end of business as two farmers promised to come. . .
