Maseru, Feb. 16 — At least Three Revolution for Prosperity (RFP) Members of Parliament (MPs) have on Monday in the National Assembly defected to Democratic Congress(DC) and Basotho Action Party (BAP).
This, after the Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane read their letters before the House.
The trio include Abia MP, Mr. Thuso Makhalanyane, Peka MP, Mr. Mohopoli Monokoane and Matala MP, Dr. Ts’eliso Moroke.
In their letters, the trio informed the Speaker of their decision to leave the party after thorough consideration.
The Speaker therefore granted them an opportunity to do as they wished and we’re welcomed by their new party Leaders and members.
However, only Mr. Makhalanyane crossed the floor to join DC while the two MPs, remained in the government side since BAP remains part of the coalition government.
Meanwhile, prior to proceedings of the House, a number of RFP members were seen singing outside the House.
