AA PROJECT TO INSTALL 30 CLEAN WATER SUPPLY STORAGE TANKS

13 — At least 30 Clean water storage tanks of 5000 litres capacity each, will be installed at different villages in the district  under Anticipatory Action (AA) for climate shocks World Food Programme (WFP) funded project.

The tanks installation activity which includes pre-construction activities of the construction company at the villages started on Friday last week is expected to be complete on March 05.

 In an interview the Community Liaison Officer from District Department of Rural Water Supply, Ms. Nobantu Jason said the project is Coordinated by the Disaster Management Authority (DMA) district office and supervised by the district department of Rural Water Supply (RWS).

She pointed out that the tanks will be installed as part of drought relief activities to the beneficiaries as they will provide them with clean water that will be refilled by RWS in response to water shortage caused by drought.
