Maseru, Oct. 11 — AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) will commemorate International Day of the Girl Child at the event to be held in Mants’onyane on Saturday.
According to AHF Advocacy and Marketing Officer Ms. Sebabatso Lentsoenyane the event, whose theme is “Amplify Her Voice” is intended to empower girls to take control of their lives and health as well as to urge the government leaders to promote programs and policies that create equality for young women and girls.
She indicated that during the event, advocates will address menstrual health management, comprehensive sexuality education, and child marriages and reinforce the importance of girls staying in school, avoiding unplanned pregnancies, building life skills and other vital issues affecting their health.
