Mokhotlong, Jan. 30 — Disaster Management Authority (DMA) in Mokhotlong is in the process of building seven houses in different parts of the district in 2026.
According to the Acting District Disaster Manager (DDM), Mr. Sekake Thamae, the Authority would build the houses after thorough assessments that houses beneficiaries currently occupy are no longer habitable.
He said the contractors were on site on Thursday and it is expected that construction of the houses will be completed at the end of March this year.
Mr. Thamae mentioned that the houses will be constructed at Tsoenene,
Ha Lekhehle, Matsoaing in the Bobatsi Constituency, Mapholaneng within the Malingoaneng Constituency as well as Khubelu and Molikaliko in the Senqu Constituency.
He further said construction of seven new houses will bring the number of houses built by DMA to 11.
Four other houses were built last year at Phutha in Mokhotlong Constituency,
Khotsang in Malingoaneng and Makherehloa in Bobatsi Constituencies.
