FRAUD CASE SET DOWN FOR TRIAL

Maseru, Aug. 08 — A fraud case involving over M130 million belonging to the Disaster Management Authority (DMA) has been set down to September 22-26 2025 for trial.

Previously, the case could not take off following disagreements between the prosecution and the defence. An amended and final indictment in which one of the accused, Makhotso Mahosi is removed as she is deceased, was not yet served to the defence.

There were also issues pending regarding minutes for pretrial conference. The defence complained that they were served with illegible documents therefore they could not consult with their clients and prepare for the trial.

The case was recently delayed when it was scheduled to commence as one of the accused was not available as she was reported ill and another accused was not represented as he has issues with his legal representative.
