Mohale’s Hoek, September. 08 — The Minister of Health Mr. Selibe Mochoboroane and Health’s Director General Dr. ‘Nyane Letsie on Thursday visited Ha Jobo and other affected villages following the death of 3 villagers due to the flu outbreak in that region.
This was confirmed by the District Public Health Nurse at Nts’ekhe Government Hospital, Ms. Moleboheng Adam who noted that Ha Mothibi village has recorded 3 fatalities, following a sudden flu outbreak at Bolatella Primary school.
Ms. Adam noted that the outbreak has spread to other 2 villages namely Ha Jobo, and Ha Rampokoane respectively, after one woman who had flu passed it to her maternal mother, then her mother inlaw who had visited the victim contacted the flu and passed it to her husband and they both died.
Ms. Adam noted that the outbreak has compelled students to stop attending classes, even though there has not been any formal communication whether the school is officially closed or not.
She however promised to keep the Agency updated regarding any developments.
