POVERTY DRIVES CHILDREN TO EAT WILD MUSHROOMS

Qacha’s Nek, April.05 — The Ministry of Health (MoH) Food Safety Programme Manager Mr. Motsamai Mahahabisa says children in Leribe and Qacha’s Nek were driven by poverty to eat wild mushrooms popularly known as Khoaeane or Koae-ea-makhoaba.

This he told the Agency after health centres in different districts were said to have attended to patients with stomach aches, vomiting and diarrhoea caused by wild mushrooms and others died recently in Qacha’s Nek.
