PETROL PRICES TO REMAIN THE SAME-PETROLEUM FUND

Maseru, April.05 — The Petroleum Fund Secretariat has issued a notice to the general public on the adjustment of fuel prices across the country with effect from Wednesday (today).

The fund indicated that pump prices of both petrol grades will remain unchanged for the period while the prices for diesel and illuminating paraffin will both be decreased by M1.10 per litre.

According to the Petroleum Fund, the new fuel prices at all retailers in all the districts of Lesotho shall remain as M20.10 per litre of Petrol 93, M20.40 for a litre of Petrol 95, M21.05 for a litre of Diesel 50 while a litre of illuminating paraffin is expected to be charged at M16.50.

The fund however appealed to all the retailers to charge proper prices because it is illegal to charge prices that are different from the gazetted prices adding that legal actions shall be taken upon
those retailers who will be found not be charging the aforementioned prices

This appeal comes after the fund has made observations that in the past that some of the retailers have been serving with prices which are above the gazetted ones.

Amid the crisis of constantly increasing fuel prices, government of Lesotho subsided the nation with a six months on fuel which came to an end in December last year.
