Maseru, June 19 — At least 24 health facilities under the Maseru district have resolved to implement a supermarket approach as a measure to improve health services.
This, nurses representing the health facilities said during the review workshop on the Expanded Program on Immunization held at Molengoane Lodge in Nazareth where they said that the supermarket approach will be implemented within the next three months.
This followed a concern that health facilities were returning patients who came for services on days scheduled for certain services.
A supermarket approach is whereby health centres are providing more services on a regular basis, for example, mothers can go for their check-ups and have their
children immunized and monitored for growth on the same day in health centres instead of having to return on another day to avail of services for themselves or their children.
