Leribe, Feb. 01 — International Organisation for Migration (IOM) on Thursday introduced a new project to the stakeholders at the meeting held at Hlotse in Leribe.
The project, ‘ Supporting climate Adaptive Solutions in Lesotho through Policy and Community Based Green Economy’, is to be piloted in the districts of Leribe, Quthing, Mohale’s Hoek, Mafeteng and Qacha’s Nek.
Speaking at the meeting, IOM Programme Mrs. ‘Makarabo Monaheng said the objective of the project is to contribute to reducing the climate change impact on human mobility and promoting the green economy through sustainable livelihood opportunities.
In addition, she said the expected outcome one is that the Government of Lesotho develops and commits to implementing climate adaptive solutions, guided by a national MECC Strategy and Action plan.
