WORLD VISION, DMA CAPACITATE TEACHERS ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION

Berea, Feb 21 — At least 15 teachers from different primary schools of Berea have completed a three-days training on Consolidation and Strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction in schools hosted by World Vision Lesotho (WVL) in collaboration with Disaster Management Authority (DMA) at Blue Mountain Inn.

Speaking to LENA, WVL European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operation (ECHO) Project Coordinator Ms. Mamokobo Lebeko said the training was aimed at discussing the emergencies in the education school’s environment and to some possible ways of strengthening and integrating the Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) issues into the learning curriculum. Ms. Lebeko said another issue is to establish the capacity of the district in relation to responding to the emergencies either being through the government departments, Non-Government Organisations, business community and others. . .
