Maseru, July 18 — Subsequent to complaints on social media platforms concerning King Letsie III 60th Royal Empire Cake (REC), the designer of the cake, Mrs. ‘Mamoshe Makumane speaks.
In an exclusive interview with the Agency on Tuesday, the founder of Mosh School of Baking and Catering said the REC is an extra-ordinary design meant not only to embrace the magnitude of Chieftainship but observe the diamond era as well.
Mrs. Makumane, whose school has been giving out cakes for free annually during King’s birthday for the last eight years explained that REC is different from ordinary cakes, adding the cake is a mixture of lawn, statue of the King, fountain, a hand drawn portrait of the King including Qiloane mountain to mention a few, thus signalling royalty and kingdom.
