Maseru, Jan. 06 — The Law Society of Lesotho (LSL) has called for the immediate resignation of the Commissioner of Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS), Mr. Mating Nkakala with immediate effect following the escape and torture of inmates at the Maseru Central Correctional Institution recently.
In its statement released this week, the Law Society of Lesotho calls for the Commissioner of Correctional Services to immediately show cause why he should not immediately resign.
It says the severity of the security breaches and the reported acts of violence demand a change in leadership to restore public trust and uphold the principles of justice.
