Maseru, May 14 — Lesotho Correctional Service (LCS) Commissioner Mating Nkakala says he decided to establish the Commission immediately after he received a report that inmates were assaulted.
This, he said when testifying before the Commission of Inquiry on the incidents that occurred at Maseru Central Correctional Institution (MCCI) on December 21, 2023.
He said the objective was to investigate what caused the assault and death of an inmate by the name of Bokang Tsoapo who was among the six inmates who escaped on December 21 so that he could take proper measures thereafter…
