LEC NEW TARIFFS IMPACT BUSINESSES NEGATIVELY

Mokhotlong, April 1, — Lesotho Electricity Company (LEC) has announced new tariffs that have a negative impact on businesses and individuals with low income.

In an interview with the Agency, one of the food business owners, Mr. Rampoi Matete said electricity was already expensive, and these tariffs make it worse.

He mentioned that his profit margin is going to be affected as he will spend more on electricity.

He said he uses electricity for refrigerators and cooking, among other things.

Mr. Matete stated that this will force him to adjust his food prices, and sadly, this will negatively impact his customers…
