Maseru, May. 06 The National AIDS Commission (NAC), in collaboration with the South-to-South HIV Prevention Learning Network, has convened a two-day workshop in Maseru aimed at strengthening national HIV prevention programming through a comprehensive Pan-Prevention approach.

Speaking at the opening of the workshop on Wednesday, the Acting Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Health, Mrs. ’Mants’oanelo Monyobi, described Lesotho’s inclusion as the 16th member of the South-to-South HIV Prevention Learning Network as a significant milestone.

She noted that this development provides an important platform for the country to both share its experiences and learn from other member states on effective HIV prevention strategies.

Mrs. Monyobi highlighted that although Lesotho remains among the countries heavily affected by HIV and AIDS, it has made notable progress, including reaching and surpassing the global 95-95-95 targets.

She said the workshop will serve as a platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaboration, and identify innovative approaches to sustain and accelerate HIV prevention efforts.

Meanwhile, the representative of the South-to-South HIV Prevention Learning Network, Mr. Muhammed Khan, said the meeting presents an opportunity to explore how financing for HIV prevention can be optimised to achieve an HIV-free generation…
