Maseru, Apr. 18 — Lesotho National Federation of Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD) has recently launched Phase II of the Gender and Disability in Practice Project 2024/2028.
According to LNFOD Executive Director Advocate Nkhasi Sefuthi, the project is intended amongst others, increase accessibility of sexual and reproductive health services and gender based violence prevention and response for persons with disabilities as well as to increase enrolment, retention, and graduation of children with disabilities from primary and secondary schools.
He indicated that the project will create an opportunity for persons with disabilities to establish associations in districts which will enable them to participate in community issues and fight for their rights.
He said the project is implemented in four districts of the country which include Mokhotlong, Botha-Bothe, Lerbe and Beria, saying it will cover 14 community councils.
