Mafeteng, July 23 — The Minister of Natural Resource Professor Nqosa Mahao is expected to hand over Khoro Rehabilitation Water Supply System to the community of Ha Khoro on Thursday this week.
The reconstruction of a combination of both solar borehole pumping and solar spring pump system which started in February is estimated to cost M1,755 517.00 is supported by Habitat.
In an interview with the Rural Water Supply Principal Technical Officer Mrs. Mathebe Khesa said Khoro Rehabilitation of Water Supply System is already benefiting one thousand two hundred and fifty people from Ha Khoro, Makahanyeng, Ralonga and Ha Ramotoho.
She highlighted that the reconstruction of both solar borehole pumping and solar spring pumping system followed a non functioning pump for years whereby members of the community from the above mentioned villages were suffering including pupils from Khoro Primary and Khoro High Schools as they had to travel long distance to fetch water from unprotected wells thus posing threat to female and women in the area particularly during late in the afternoon.
