NEW CLASSROOMS WILL RESTORE CHILDREN’S DIGNITY – LEHULA

MOHALE’S HOEK — Following a recent announcement by the Minister of Education and Training Professor Ntoi Rapapa regarding building classrooms for about eight schools in the district, Education Inspector Thabiso Lehula says this will not only restore children’s dignity and protect their right to education, but will also uplift teachers morale.

Mr. Lehula noted this in an interview with the Agency on Monday by stating that at Mosenekeng Primary School children are taught under the tree shade, therefore making learning difficult especially on harsh weather conditions.

He noted that in some schools the buildings are in no condition to be used as classrooms, and applauded the Ministry for the efforts to ensure that children’s rights to education are not being violated.

On the other hand, the Principal from Ketanyane Primary Mrs. ‘Mapiti Pita said the excitement amongst the parents and teachers upon hearing the news was immeasurable,

Mrs. Pita highlighted that she had lost hope after having been to various places seeking funds to build a school without any success.
