SAMIM FORCES EXTEND HELPING HAND TO LITINGINA VILLAGE

Maseru, Feb. 13 — In a heartwarming display of solidarity and support, the Lesotho Contingent in Mozambique, operating under the Southern African Development Community Mission in Mozambique (SAMIM), joined forces with their counterparts from the United Republic of Tanzania (URT) to aid the community of Litingina village.

The SAMIM forces, deployed in the Nangade District of Cabo Delgado Province, conducted a patrol in Litingina village with the dual objectives of gathering intelligence and disrupting terrorist activities in the region. However, what transpired during this patrol went beyond the typical duties of a military mission.

Upon arrival, the SAMIM forces were greeted by the resilient residents of Litingina village, who had taken it upon themselves to clean the premises of their primary school and construct makeshift classrooms. The school, which had fallen victim to insurgent attacks in previous years, had remained closed, depriving the children of their right to education. . .
