RSL ROLLS OUT NEW STRATEGY

Maseru, Feb. 14 — In an effort to positively impact Basotho’s livelihoods, Revenue Services Lesotho (RSL) rolled out its three-year strategy to the media in Maseru on Wednesday.

The objective was to discuss this strategy with Editors and Station Managers so that they could understand it and support the direction RSL is taking in fulfilling its mandate of collecting tax to assist Basotho.

Speaking at the event, RSL Commissioner General Mrs. Mathabo Makoko said they came up with the three-year strategy to ensure that RSL delivers because it would be ineffective if it was a long term thing, saying it focuses on what RSL staff could do to make people understand why they should pay tax,  the Tax Administration Diagnosis Tool as well as the use of Technology.

She indicated that as the strategy aims to positively impact Basotho’s livelihoods, their mission is to ensure that the government has enough funding, fight corruption, foster a fair tax environment, be the best employer and be financially stable.
