Maseru, Aug. 01 — A case in which four police officers are charged with the murder of their colleague Police Constable Mokalekale Khetheng, which was scheduled for hearing today, could not proceed due to unavailability of a presiding judge Justice Charles Hungwe.
A judge who was sitting-in for the presiding judge, Justice Mafelile Ralebese stated that the matter cannot proceed because the presiding judge had a funeral at his home in Zimbabwe. She added that the judge is yet to be back in Lesotho therefore the case must be postponed to August 03 2023 which is Thursday.
The case was last month postponed after the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Advocate Hlalefang Motinyane sought a postponement so that she could prepare herself to take over from prosecution lawyers who were seeking to withdraw from the case.
