Maseru, July.17—Director Road Network Development from Roads Directorate says reconstruction of the A5 road from St. Michael’s to Roma is on schedule.
Mr. Linehella Nts’ere said the road foundation work which started in January is almost complete covering about nine points out of 10.
He said the foundation is expected to be completed in August followed by layer works while in October they will be putting tar.
He emphasized that this project is still on time as expected completion is in April 2026.
He mentioned that to date five out of 12 culverts have been installed.
On the other hand, Mr. Nts’ere urged the community and motorists to be patient and cautious of road signs and big machinery working on the road.
Meanwhile, the 6km A5 is being constructed by China Geo Engineering Corporation alongside the 2km stretch road to St. Joseph’s hospital. While the consultant is Mafube Consultancy and SM Engineering Consultancy.
This reconstruction and full rehabilitation is estimated to the value of M140 million.
