BAP INFIGHTING DEEPENS FURTHER

Maseru, Nov. 18—The infighting within the Basotho Action Party (BAP) which happens to be part of government is deepening as the Central Executive Committee (CEC) allegedly threatens to pull the party from the government if it does not expel the Principal Secretary (PS) of the Ministry of Energy, Tankiso Phapano.

Unconfirmed reports state that the party’s CEC had an extraordinary meeting on Sunday whose agenda was to decide whether or not the party will continue backing the ruling coalition led by the Revolution for Prosperity (RFP).

It has been alleged by the BAP membership that the party’s leadership demands that Prime Minister (PM) Samuel Matekane reassigns Phapano who has been accused of corruption, to a ministry overseen by BAP Deputy Leader, Motlatsi Maqelepo…
