BASIC EDUCATION STRENGTHENING PROJECT TACKLES EARLY CHILD MARRIAGES

Thaba -Tseka, July 05 — Newly recipients and beneficiaries of Basic Education Strengthening Education (BESP) say the initiative will go a long way in tackling early child marriages.

These views were gathered by the Agency during dispensation of World Bank  BESP grants to new beneficiaries at Mashai within Linakeng Council K05 on Thursday.

One of the recipients, Kolitsoe Monaheng (14) of St. Theresa high school stated that receiving the grant has enhanced the zeal for education amongst them as students.

“I have learnt that some students simply engaged in early marriages, just because they felt frustrated due to no money to buy school uniforms, hence BESP has brought positive changes in our lives,” she stressed.
