Maseru, Sept. 19– The Basotho Enterprises Development Corporation (BEDCO) have shared their experience with the Women Mentorship Programme which aims at helping women to develop their skills and knowledge they need to move up the career ladder and overcome their challenges.
Speaking with the Agency, the Senior Manager of Programme SME funding Mrs. Majubere Magandani said the women are completely underrepresented in leadership roles hence the BEDCO piloted the programme.
She said the programme did not work well due to numerous challenges that include bad attendance of mentees. Adding that poor attendance was mainly because people are obsessed with doing things for money so, the programme offered nothing lucrative except skills and knowledge.
