BEREA URBAN COUNCIL IMPROVES STREET VENDORS WORKPLACE

Berea, Aug. 31 — In a bid to improve the working conditions of street vendors, Berea Urban Council has allocated at least 15 revamped units of the market place to Teyateyaneng street vendors.

According to Urban Council Town Clerk, Ms. Nkhabo Thamae the new improved market structure forms part of their 2022/2023 infrastructure development project aimed at promoting a good looking town.

Ms. Thamae said one of the major reasons for rolling out such a project which has cost them over M300,000 was to enhance hygiene issues and safety of street vendors and their property.
