BILL MOVED FOR SECOND READING

Maseru, Aug. 14 – The Minister of Justice and Law, Mr. Richard Ramoeletsi moved the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution Bill, 2024 to be read for the second time  in the National Assembly on Wednesday.

Highlighting the importance of the Bill, he said it seeks to amend the 1993 Lesotho Constitution for the development of the country and its people in line with reforms Plenary ll report.

Amongst others, he reiterated that  ‘Sephuthi and Xhoza’,  are to be included in the Constitution with the aim to accommodate those speaking these languages as citizens of the country for ownership purposes.

In addition, Minister Ramoeletsi noted the importance of Chieftainship as being  fundamental, thus alignment intending to ensure smooth democracy is vital…
