WVL INTENSIFIES CHILD LABOUR TRAINING TO COMMUNITY TEAMS

Berea, Aug 14—In a bid to increase awareness on issues which endangers children’s lives, World Vision Lesotho (WVL) has engaged at least 28 members of Community Councils Child Protection Teams (CCCPT’s) from Sefikaneng and Koeneng into a training regarding the child labour issues.

WVL Project Officer of Accelerating Action for Elimination of Child Labour and Forced Labour (AECFL) Ms. Maliteboho Kutumela said child labour remains a major obstacle depriving many children to enjoy their childhood and thus posing a threat to their lives and the future. 

Ms. Kutumela said the primary purpose of the training is to help the CCCPT members to understand the dynamics which drive the child labour, and to contribute proactively to developing strategies which can help to eliminate and shift these underlying factors of child labour or forced labour, human trafficking and mitigate their effects through the increased awareness and strengthened labour legal frameworks…
