CHIEF JUSTICE OFFICIATES HIGH COURT OPENING

Maseru, Feb.03 – The 16th Chief Justice, Sakoane Sakoane officiated the opening of the High Court in Maseru on Monday. The event saw the presence of the Prime Minister, Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane along with other officials.

Prior to the Chief Justice speech, there was a moment of silence in remembrance of Judiciary staff who passed on in the previous year.

In his address, Chief Justice Sakoane said   despite challenges facing them on a daily basis that include shortage of resources including departure of three Judges, the High Court has noted various improvements.

Amongst them, he talked about refurbishment of 10 courts that include those in local, central and high court respectively. He added the government has been instrumental in supporting a project for a permanent structure of the Southern court to be based in Mohale’s Hoek…
