Maseru, Feb. 04 — Completion of Belo factories is a must as according to unions, therefore 2025/2026 fiscal budget is expected to entail an analysis on how to attain this.
Speaking in an interview, the National Clothing Textile and Allied Workers Union (NACTWU) Deputy Secretary General Mr. Ts’epang Makakole said that in the upcoming budget the government should ensure that there is an allocation for the completion of Belo factories as that would attract more investors which means creation of more jobs.
He stressed that the factories have been completed and only lack electricity and water, saying that they should be completed so that the shells like other infrastructure do not become white elephants.
Moreover, he stated that the Prime Minister had promised prior to elections that he would construct houses for factory workers, saying that it has been over two years since he became in power and there is no word on that.
