SNOWFALL RELEASES ENOUGH MOISTURE WITHOUT RUN OFF

Maseru, June 04 — Basotho woke up to a white blanket covering most parts of the country including Maseru City to the amusement of many including children who experienced it for the first time ever in their lifetime.

Houses, roads, cars and grass on the ground were covered with the snow which started falling from Sunday evening in parts of the mountain areas throughout Monday to Tuesday in the lowlands as had been focused by the weather man last week.

However when interviewed by the News Agency on Tuesday, one of the farmers in the country Mr. Tlotlisang Sefali said they welcome the snowfall with open arms, especially for crops.

He said the snowfall helps to release enough moisture to the soil without much of the run off, as it is the case during rainfall.
