Maseru, April 30 — Three Cabinet ministers were officially sworn in at the Royal Palace in Maseru on Thursday, marking a significant reshuffle within the government.

The ceremony saw Member of Parliament for Mphosong, Mrs. ’Mamokete Nts’ekhe, take oath as Minister of Health, while Thuathe constituency legislator Mrs. Voeswa Tsheka assumed the role of Minister of Home Affairs and Police. Motimposo constituency Member of Parliament, Mrs. ’Makatleho Motsoasele, was sworn in as Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office.

In an interview with the Agency, Mrs. Motsoasele acknowledged the weight of her new responsibilities, noting that her ministry deals with critical issues affecting vulnerable populations, including disaster management. She said she is committed to delivering exceptional service in collaboration with ministry officials.

“I am aware of the challenges that come with this portfolio, particularly in addressing issues of vulnerability and disasters. I am ready to work closely with the team to ensure effective service delivery,” she said.

The reshuffle also saw several ministers reassigned to new portfolios. Mr. Lejone Mpotjoane moves from Foreign Affairs and International Relations to Energy and Mining, while Mr. Selibe Mochoboroane shifts from Health to Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition. Mr. Thabo Mofosi, previously in Agriculture, now takes over Environment and Forestry.
