COURT CASE DIRECTLY AFFECTING MOTION OF NO CONFIDENCE -SEKHAMANE

Maseru, Oct 16 – Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane says the House will not debate on the motion of no confidence due to the court case in the courts of law which is directly challenging the same motion.

Mr. Sekhamane made this ruling after suspending the day’s sitting of the National Assembly in order to study if the case does not affect the day’s business.

He made an example of similar cases which were also not debated in the National Assembly after Mr. Kanaenolo Boloetse challenged the reinstatement of the Eleventh Amendment to the constitution as well as Mr. Nkaku Kabi and Mr. Tefo Mapesela both challenged the House’s special meeting reconvened to deal with the reforms processes earlier this year.
