Maseru, Nov. 19 — The Lesotho Communications Authority (LCA) held a two-day capacity building workshop for the Postal and courier services sector on regulatory development programmes and national stakeholders engagement in Maseru from Tuesday.
In his opening remarks, the acting Chief Executive Officer of Lesotho Communications Authority Advocate Thato Ponya said that this gathering will enable representatives for different organizations to have discussions that help the stakeholders in advancing the regulatory frameworks that underpin the postal sector in various jurisdictions.
He indicated that the workshop will also enable the participants to delve deep into the foundational theories of postal sector regulation, establishing its necessity and exploring the inherent socio-economic impacts associated with this sector.
He added that with the as they engage in this dialogue, they hope to unravel the complexities surrounding universal service obligations and regulatory frameworks that ensure equitable access to postal services for all segments of the society through collaborations and shared expertise.
