Mohale’s Hoek, Oct. 24 — The Chairperson of the Environmental Stewardship and Climate Action, Mr. Kopano Khama has confirmed that the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) will be held in Maseru on October 28 to 29, courtesy of ReNoka.

Mr. Khama stated this in an interview with the Agency during one day conference held for about 50 youth from various villages at the DIFA stadium by noting that youth play a major role driving sustainable development in climate action, and applauded participants for showing up in numbers, without expecting to be handed out anything.

ReNoka’s Natural Resources Management Expert assigned under Gender and Youth inclusion, Mr. Ramatsoku Rampai asserted that youth are not up to date on issues pertaining to Natural Resources, Environment and Climate, noting ReNoka in partnership with the Ministry of Gender, Youth and Social Development will establish Youth Strategy to assist in issues related to climate change and youth, on how it affects them.

Furthermore,  one of the participants from Moeaneng, Bokang Sekoati applauded the initiative by stating that as youth they need to be involved in issues relating to the country’s development, without expecting to be given anything in return, except the knowledge they will be equipped with.
