Mohale’s Hoek, Nov. 06 — The Lesotho Electricity Company’s (LEC) Information Officer Mrs. ‘Mareitumetse Monyau has affirmed that prior to electricity disconnection, the institution communicates with involved businesses to reach amicable solutions.
Mrs. Monyau stated this in an interview with the Agency following power disconnection at the Traffic offices due to the money being owed the institution, by noting that the decision to finally cut off electricity is reached after several discussions and warnings, as LEC is bearing in mind that their customers provide services needed by the nation, hence both parties should be in talks to avoid any inconvenience which may lead to poor service delivery.
On the other hand, Transport Controller, Mrs. ‘Moi Mokoaleli confirmed that indeed the office failed to offer services for a period of two days due to the debt which has now been paid, however acknowledged that the issue caused hindrance to the service delivery process.
Mrs. Mokoaleli indicated that this is not the first time the office has had the electricity cut off, noting the problem could happen again considering the various procedures which are being followed by government ministries to finally have their payments processed.
