Bloemfontein, Sep. 20–Despite what was observed as a very good game and a satisfactory first half, Lioli were eventually defeated 3-0 by Orlando Pirates in a first leg of CAF Champions League on Saturday at the Toyota Stadium.
Lioli generally performed well in the first half although it eventually got defeated. In his comments during a post-match press conference, Lioli Coach, Bongani Maseko said to him it was a perfect game, considering that the boys were playing away from home even though on paper they were the hosts.

“It is not advantageous for us to host away from home. However, to me it was a perfect game. I am very proud of the boys’ performance, they did their best”, the Coach said.
He also observed the presence of the team supporters, to whom he said he was very thankful as their showing up played a vital role in the team’s morale.Orlando Pirates head coach, Abdeslam Ouaddou, on the other hand admitted not achieving some of the things during the game but could not forget to say it was a beautiful game.”I am a proud coach.
I am proud of them all, they did great. Bit what is more important is trust. One needs to trust his players and be true to them.

If they give that back, you all can do magic,” he said.He however underscored the importance of always keeping in mind that players are humans and need to be treated and approached as such.
The second leg of the CAF Champions League will be on Friday, September 26, at Orlando Stadium where Orlando Pirates is the host.Lioli currently needs four goals, and the game is a must win for them or else they are out of the champions league.
